Compton Community Steps In To Give A Resident A Helping Hand

Compton, CA- Aside from the community clean ups and great friendships with The C.A.M.P we got wind of an elderly Comotonite the needed some assistance.
Dawn Franks, super camper, was told by Code Enforcement of a man name Mr Greggs who was 86 years old and living in Compton over 60 years. A plumber by profession, we found out the the wheelchair bound collector, had some issues getting to his front door. With his permission, The Camp went out after clearing up alleys we headed to Caswell Street and meet our member in need. Upon arrival, Chris Bailey, Andrew Thompson and JB has already mapped out exactly what needed to be done the day before. Trash, rubble, old plumbing items consumed Mr. Greggs front porch, chair ramp and entire front yard causing an eye-sore for neighbors. Within 2 hours, residents along with Screaming Eagle Services cleared his entire front yard! We did get some push back for beloved items but also got a pleasant visit from Cofe Enforcement thanking us for helping out someone who may have been fined. It was a great way to give back and connect with this cities loved ones, seasoned ones and keeping community first!
